Our verdict

The bottom line

Worx Landroid is the budget alternative to Husqvarna Automower — cheaper hardware, weaker software, but the PowerShare battery family is a real asset for existing Worx tool owners. For 500m² simple lawns, the M500 Plus is workable. Don't expect it to handle complex multi-zone gardens like a NERA 410 XE will.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • Uses Worx PowerShare 20V battery (cross-tool compatible)
  • AIA cut-pattern adapts to lawn shape
  • Quieter than petrol equivalent (62 dB)
  • Compact storage

Cons

  • Reviews mixed — software stability varies by firmware version
  • Boundary wire required (no satellite navigation)
  • ACS anti-collision sensors are an extra-cost upgrade
  • Worx app less polished than Husqvarna Automower

Buying second-hand

Used-market tip

£230-380 used. Firmware version matters more than year — always update before buying decisions are made. Worx wheels are the cheap part (£12 each) and easily replaced. The PowerShare battery slot fits other Worx 20V batteries from your hedge trimmer, which is a genuine perk over Husqvarna proprietary battery design.

Where to look: Facebook Marketplace and Gumtree are usually 20–30% cheaper than eBay UK for petrol mowers because most sellers want local pickup. eBay tends to win on cordless and electric (lighter, easier to ship). Always insist on a starting demonstration before paying.
