Our verdict
Toro is the dominant American mower brand and the Recycler 22" is their volume model. The Personal Pace system is genuinely clever — speed responds to your walking pace, not a fixed gear. UK supply is patchy but if you can get one, it's an excellent wide-cut petrol.

Buying second-hand
£280-450 used. Briggs 163cc parts are everywhere (filter, plug, blade). The Personal Pace belt is the only model-specific service item — £35 part, fiddly to fit, budget £80 if you can't DIY. UK Toro dealers (Lely UK, P Tuckwell) keep parts but expect 5-10 day lead times.
