Our verdict
The bottom line
The current entry Murray. Same cut width as the heritage 11/30 but with collection, mulching, and modern controls. Good value new but used supply is small in the UK — Mountfield 1430M and 1530H are the more obvious rivals at this price.

- Briggs 7150 — well-supported engine

Used-market tip
£600–1000 used. Briggs 7150 hours under 200 is excellent. Confirm Murray UK warranty status — distribution gaps mean some units are direct-import. Murray dealer support is via Briggs & Stratton service network.
Where to look: Facebook Marketplace and Gumtree are usually 20–30% cheaper than eBay UK for petrol mowers because most sellers want local pickup. eBay tends to win on cordless and electric (lighter, easier to ship). Always insist on a starting demonstration before paying.
