Our verdict
The T1880's bigger brother for half-acre lawns and beyond. Same agricultural Kubota build with a wider Kawasaki engine, and the same retained-value story when you sell. Most domestic buyers do not need the extra 20cm of deck, but if your lawn justifies it this is the rational upgrade.
Pros & cons
Pros
- Kawasaki FS600V V-twin, parts on shelf at any small-engine dealer
- Hydrostatic drive smooth in both directions
- 122cm deck cuts an acre in under an hour
- Kubota service stamps hold resale strongly
Cons
- Side-discharge or collection only, no mulch as standard kit
- Heavier than the T1880 on soft turf
- Kubota dealer network thinner than John Deere

Buying second-hand
£3000-4800 used. Kawasaki FS600V hours under 600 are excellent. Test the hydro drive on a real incline, slipping under load is the standard wear point on any Kubota petrol ride-on. Confirm the collection chute is included, side-discharge-only units sometimes turn up cheaper.
