Our verdict
The mower that broke the £400 self-propelled-with-electric-start barrier. It does not match a Mountfield SP46 or a Cobra MX46SPB on long-term durability — those are 10-year mowers, this is a 5-year mower — but the price difference is enormous and the spec sheet on paper is identical. For owners who don't service their machines and just want a thing that starts on the button, the Hyundai is the obvious choice.

Buying second-hand
Used HYM480SPERs are everywhere on Marketplace at £140-200 because owners panic when the electric-start battery dies after year three. The battery is generic 12V 7Ah — buy any sealed lead-acid from CPC and pay £18. If the seller is dropping the price because 'the electric start is broken', that is your bargain. Confirm pull-cord still works as backup.
