Our verdict

The bottom line

The sensible Goldilocks EGO. Sized between the entry LM1701 and the flagship LM2135E-SP, the LM2024E-SP is genuinely the right cordless for the typical UK suburban back garden. Steel deck at this price is rare on cordless.

Used-market tip

£300-440 used. EGO holds value better than any other cordless brand — even 4-year-old examples sell for £350+. Insist on the original EGO battery, test runtime (40+ min is healthy), and check the deck for the inevitable kerb dents which don't affect function. The wheels are a wear part — £20 each direct from EGO.

Where to look: Facebook Marketplace and Gumtree are usually 20–30% cheaper than eBay UK for petrol mowers because most sellers want local pickup. eBay tends to win on cordless and electric (lighter, easier to ship). Always insist on a starting demonstration before paying.
