Our verdict
A solid heavy-duty alternative to JD that punches above its price. The Kohler engine is a real plus. Just be aware UK service is patchy.

Buying second-hand
£1300–2200 used. Kohler engine hours under 400 is good. Cub Cadet steering box wears — check for play. PTO clutch must engage cleanly without slip. Service history is harder to verify (smaller dealer network) so weight that into the price.
