Verdict — which one to buy

Our take

The push-only HP46 has the same engine and deck as the SP46 — just no self-propel. If you have a flat lawn and decent fitness, the HP46 saves £100 new and £50 used, with one fewer wear part (the drive cable). Smart choice for under 600m² flat lawns.
