Verdict — which one to buy

Our take

JD X-series sizing. The X167R is the entry rear-collect tractor for 0.5–1 acre lawns; the X354 is the 4WS premium for half-acre+ with awkward shapes. The 4-wheel-steer on the X354 actually does help around obstacles; for straight rectangular lawns it's overkill.
